Ag Business Unit - Rock Trains

T&GN/NT&O Symbol Methodology

The movement of crushed rock is a significant component of the Meridian Speedway's Ag Business Unit.  There are two primary networks, on on the T&GN and one on the NT&O.

The T&GN rock network is modeled after the prototype network found on the current BNSF Creek and Madill Subdivisions between Irving, TX and Mill Creek, OK.  The primary loading locations are Clark, OK and Mill Creek, OK with most of the destinations being locations in East Texas.  The operating hub for this network is Sherman, TX which is a crew-change point and has a diesel shop to support the locomotive fleet in this service.

The NT&O rock network is based on a fictitious "adjusted variable" whereby a similar rock business is supported by quarries on the Dublin Subdivision.  Primary loading locations in this network are Brownwood, San Angelo, Cresson, and Big Lake, TX. The NT&O rock train operations hub is Dublin, TX.  This is also a crew change point and has a diesel shop to support the locomotives assigned to the NT&O rock network.
