Enjoy the Journey....Welcome to the Meridian Speedway!
This site is intended to serve as the internet portal for my "Proto-Freelanced" railroad empire championed by the flagship Texas & Great Northern and Natchez Trace & Orient Railways. The hobby interest known as railfanning has many niches that fall under the main categories of prototype railroading and model railroading. The combinations of the two that range from historical research of a specific time and place or railroad all the way to collection of model trains that have no prototypical basis whatsoever are as varied as the number of people who make up the railfan community. |

Many of us define and redefine our niche interest many times as our available time, disposable income, geographic location, and recreational space changes.
Like many in the hobby, my interest began at a very young age due to family influences. My first locomotive cab ride was in a Southern FP7 locomotive when I was four years old. The first locomotive I ran was KCS NW2 4222...when I was eleven. My father, an avid historian and photographer as well as a modeler, exposed me to many aspects of the hobby during my childhood allowing my passion for railroading to develop into both an exciting career as well as a constructive and enjoyable hobby.
My interest in model railroading has changed focus several times over the past 20 years or so. From knowing simply that "Model Railroading is Fun" to wanting to model a very specific time and place on the Santa Fe to hating trains and all things railfan related, my model railroading interest and identity has matured into the model railroad concept that this site is devoted to.

This web site is intended to serve as a one-stop reference source for myself as well as provide a source of entertainment and inspiration for others wanting to learn about the world's greatest hobby!
Once again, welcome to the Vicksburg District of the Natchez Trace and Orient Railway - an unlikely and colorful railroad that has transformed from a low-priority branch to a primary NAFTA artery known as THE MERIDIAN SPEEDWAY! Enjoy, Christopher M. Palmieri President & CEO T&GN and NT&O Railways |
