Chris Atkins' Sheridan West Blog and Podcast

​This morning I spent some time cataloging my HO freight cars while listening to a couple of "A ModelersLife" podcasts of interest.  Recently I saw a comment on FaceBook by Art Houston directed to local modeler Chris Atkins about a lack of updates on his model railroad.  Chris replied that he has a blog and shard the link: ​http://sheridanwest.blogspot.com/.

Chris Atkins has moved into the Argyle, TX property vacated by Shane Murphy which includes the former Texas & Pacific Railroad Roanoke, TX section house which housed Shane's model railroad.  Before I moved to Lincoln I was able to operate on Shane's railroad several times.  Shane even allowed me to operate and photograph my own Meridian Speedway power on the layout.  Many of these photos can be found throughout this website.

There is a post on Chris' blog with the above picture of him in front of this section house with a link to a podcast by A ModelersLife where he was interviewed about his interest in the hobby.  Of course I clicked on the link out of curiosity and ended up listening to the entire podcast.  I had not heard of A ModelersLife before so this was new for me.  The button below will take you to that podcast:

Currently Chris Atkins is renovating this building and will construct a two-level Northern Pacific model railroad.  I am looking forward to seeing the progress of this railroad and hopefully will be invited to some work sessions and operating sessions in the future.
